Emergency (Copyright) Order, 1999, Brunei Darussalam

Hitam Puteh hereby asserts its rights to be identified as the copyright owner in accordance with the provisions of the Emergency (Copyright) Order, 1999 of Brunei Darussalam. Subject to the Emergency (Copyright) Order, 1999, no part of this website may be reproduced, stored or transmitted in any form or by any means including any electronic or mechanical form or means, any information storage or retrieval system, photocopying, printing or recording without the prior permission of the copyright owner, application for which should be addressed to Hitam Puteh.

The Emergency (Copyright) Order, 1999, provides:

1. Protection of original literary and artistic works of art (creative art).
2. The owner's right of ownership over the use of his/her creative art.
3. The right to prevent others from exploiting the owner’s creative art.
4. The right to authorise the exploitation of his/her creative art in exchange for monetary value.
5. The right to relinquish the owner's exclusive rights in exchange for monetary value.
6. The owner's right of reproducing his/her creative art.
7. The right to authorise public performance, broadcasting or other communications of the owner's creative art to the public.
8. The right to take civil action against the person who has committed copyright infringement.
9. Violators can be imprisoned for a term of 1 to 10 years, receive a fine not exceeding B$5,000 or both.
